Hello! I'm not new to the forum but I'm just no savvy enough to know how to use it.

With that being said if any one has any experience or would like to help me out or share your thoughts I'd really appreciate it.

I want to replicate the Steam OS build the LTT team published a few days ago but what I would like to change is the GPU instead of using a RX 7600 I would like to use a RX 7800, probably the CPU as well, looks like the 5600G is not that easy to find where I live.

Ryzen 5 5600G or 5600GT

Asus Prime B550MA

16GB DDR4

RX 7600 or RX 7800

I've seen people using other Linux distros that run great, right but I just want to use Steam OS for testing purposes. Has anyone tried this configuration of a similar configuration and if so, did it worked? Thanks in advance!

What is the price of the Ryzen 5600?   The G is an APU chip, not as advanced as the regular 5600.  You also don't need an APU with a dedicated GPU either.

I would suggest to remove the G, the APU series have severed l3 cache and halfed pcie lanes. There's absolutly 0 sense of getting an APU on a gaming machine when you have a dGPU.

5600 would do better

I don't know why the LTT team used a processor with an APU, probably compability?

As for the price the 5600GT price is 116USD, the 5600 is 127.53USD aprox.

No, not compatibility.  They all work fine.

Go with the 5600.

I wonder when they may reveal it more complete and for PCs in general. Though as of now they're not making it as Win alt OS so yeah.
