Those portable bluetooth speakers, do 'stereo' vs 'mono' speakers make a difference?

Assuming these are the smaller portable variety.

I was looking at the Anker Soundcore 300, which has stereo speakers, but not sure if it even makes a difference given how close they are together. Also the latency is apparently bad

Bose Flex is 2x+ more expensive but has the better latency but a mono speaker.

If going with a mono speaker, it seems that going with a smaller one that is even more portable might be better.

To clarify this is in respect to use for video playback, movies, etc.

I would say go with the Bose or JBL or Sony but take it with a grain of salt. I am not sure about the Soudncore I have never heard it, but I know the other brands I mentioned have some excellent speakers, and I would say better sound quality>stereo on a small speaker. I don't think that stereo would sound better than a good high-end speakers from the other brands I mentioned. If you need proper stereo get separate speakers, I believe on some of them you can buy two and pair them for stereo, or you can buy even more and sync them so they play together. There might be more speakers that can do that but here is an example
