Question about switching to higher capacity storage in my computer

I have a Lenovo Ideacentre 5 14IMb05 am looking to get new hard drives/ssd since my current one died.

On the Lenovo PSREF page, (https://psref.lenovo.com/WDProduct/IdeaCentre/IdeaCentre_5_14IMB05?tab=spec), it says it can only support up to a 1TB SSD and 2TB HDD. However, when I search the model of my pc on Crucial's storage upgrade page, (https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/lenovo/ideacentre-5-14imb05#ssd) it shows drives larger than what Lenovo says it the pc can support.

Will I be able to use drives larger than what Lenovo says is supported on their product specification page?

Most likely they only listed the largest drive at the time that woudl fit, or the largest drive they sold with it. Any drive that uses the same connection standard should work.

Crucial's information should be correct. Lenovo just didn't revise their info.

Is this the same situation for the ram? Lenovo's product page says my pc can only support up to 32GB of ram, does it actually support more than that or is 32GB the maximum amount?

That is often the case. If larger dimms are released after the product is made the specs are often not updated.
