Upgraded CPU - now nothing turns on at all.

Go to solution Solved by Artemis Kazuto,

Ended up putting a new Mobo in it and that fixed it, unfortunately.

Tried to update the bios and it flashed successfully theee times, but no improvement.

my only guess is I messed up the cpu socket somehow.

Hello,

I recently upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 7 3700x to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D.

The CPU swap went smoothly but when I plugged in the computer to test it out, nothing would light up or boot at all.  As if the computer had no power.

I removed the CPU and with no CPU installed it boots fine (as fine as it can without a CPU).

My kicker is even when I reinstalled the 3700X it still wouldn’t boot.

Flashing the bios didn’t resolve it.  It’s not a power button and the PSU is working. Same issue after isolating other components.

Could I have broken the Mobo somehow?
