Most efficient NVMes for USB4 enclosure?

What are the most efficient NVMEs to be used for in a USB4 enclosure?

 

I've decided to forget about using a 10 GB cheap enclosure which will probably have plenty of instability and decided to go with the OWC Express 1M2 and the more reliable PCI-Express interface.

 

I'd want to use a drive that's not necessarily the fastest but rather power efficient to keep the enclosure stable since I want to run Pro Tools projects on it.

 

Any recommendations besides the 990 Pro? Lexar isn't an option for me because it's a Chinese company now.

Bought an 2230 M.2 pulled from a new laptop.

Fairly affordable and while not the lowest power they where choosen for laptops so fairly low power (the enclosure can handle it). Power consumption is not that big of a deal at the end of the day.

 

 

For 2280 SSD:

Kioxia Exceria G2

 

Nothing exciting (TLC + DRAM)  but good enough at a attractive price.

 

People never go out of business.

990 pro is to hot, I would go with somyhing on E18 etc.
