Why doesn't tap to pay word both ways on phones?

Use you phone to pay with Google Pay/Apple Pat, why not the other way like Amazon on phones, just tap the cc to the phone & pay?

My guess is the phone doesnt have the hardware to read the tap to pay feature on cards. Also not all cards have tap to pay.

How do those people walk up & get the info from cards, they have RFID protection wallets for that reason

It's possible and exists, just only done through specialized merchant apps.
