Hi guys I'm after a low profile cooler for my Ryzen 9 5900x CPU.

I'm using a fractal design ridge black case so its fairly narrow I'm currently running it with a Noctura nh-l9a-am4 cooling fan and its not cooling well enough.

Any suggestions for a low profile one please

I would go with a Thermalright AXP-120-X67 if you can't fit an AIO.  What GPU, if any, do you have installed?  You can always use a 120mm AIO but even a low profile air cooler might be the better option.

You did say you're using a case that's narrow, that means airflow through it probrably isn't the best but also noted yeah, that cooler is probrably not enough anyway.

If you get a different cooler, it fits into the case with what you've got and it's still running too hot your best bet from there is to get a case with more space (Not so narrow/small) internally for airflow reasons.

Remember any system in a case running an aircooler for the CPU uses air inside the case for cooling, and if that's already warm then whatever is in it will be too - No way around it.

It could be adding a couple of case fans (If it has room/spots for them) would help and I'd also be sure all cables and so on aren't causing airflow problems/restrictions in the case.

This case design has the CPU cooler pulling cool air from outside the case through the side panel.  Extra case fans won't help much here.

Edit:  The best option would be a 280mm AIO.  The case does support depending on what GPU is installed.

Now that i think about it could i take out both the big fans and replace with a rad I've got about 40mm thickness between the chassis and the gpu now I've gotta try and find a kit to fit any suggestions on that guys.

Nope.  40mm is nowhere near enough.  I believe ultra slim radiators are 45mm and you'll still need another 25mm for a cooling fan.  I re-read the case specs and it lists radiator compatibility only when running without a GPU.  I would go with my original suggestion for a low profile cooler.
