B450M-HDV r4 no post

I'm building a PC for my buddies nephew and it posted once with one stick of ram, then I added another stick and it hasn't posted again.  I removed the second stick, no post.  Swapped sticks nothing.  I'm using second hand (only owned by me) ram so there is a chance that some of these sticks are dead, but that doesn't change the fact that it won't post again in the same configuration it posted before.  I just reset the cmos but haven't pulled the battery.  Maybe I'm not giving it enough time to memory test.

 

System:

MB ASRock B450M-HDV r4

CPU AMD R5 4500

RAM various

GPU Intel A380

PSU Corsair CX650

SSD Teamgroup MP33 1TB

Put one stick at a time in the slot furthest away from the cpu socket.

 

To reset the bios settings, remove the battery and unplug the computer - while the computer is plugged in and power supply is turned on from the switch in the back, the power supply will continue to provide 5v stand-by, which can be used to keep the bios settings alive.

 

After a reset, it may take up to a minute or more to get image on the monitor as the bios may be "training" the memory stick(s), basically learning what timings work and all that. So basically be patient and don't turn off the pc if you don't get some image on the monitor right away, give it time.

Well, it looks like the first slot is dead.  Unsure if it's the cpu memory controller or the motherboard.  Going to swap in another cpu to find out

Different cpu didn't do it but somehow updating the UEFI did!!!! fully functioning PC now! Installing windows time
