I wanna upgrade my ram but i am not if its copatible with my current setup.
Motherboard : msi Z490 Tomahawk
CPU: i7 10700k

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V 16gb 3200mhz (2 modules)

i was thinking of upgrading to Ripjaws 32gb 4000mhz (2 modules) but i dont know if they are compatible . I checked the ram compatibillity list of the motherboard but they are not there but neither are my current one and im lost at this point . Is there a way to know for sure if they are compatible or any recomended ram upgrades

4000mhz for ddr4 is completely useless even if it is compatible. I would reuse your current sticks and purchase a kit identical to the one you currently have for a 4 by 8gigs setup of RAM. That is a perfectly stable configuration as well.

If you lookup the memory kit at G.Skill the kit web page has a motherboard QVL tab. You can check there for your motherboard. The web site main menu Support has a RAM Configurator option that will list compatible memory kits for a particular motherboard.

DDR4 doesn't have the 4 stick issues of DDR5. The suggestion by @ARandomPerson makes sense.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

i was thinking of that before but because i kept hearing that 4 sticks tend to have issues so is started looking for an upgrade
