For those of us that work on Japanese cameras such as Canon, it would be great to have the availability of JIS bits. Especially in the smaller sizes, these are essential for working on Canon kit, such as replacing the eyecup on all the R series crop cameras or working on any Canon or Nikon lens etc. Would also like to see pozi bits as well as a few others. So would be great to get expansion packs of things like these. Maybe also add some deep bits in torx, Phillips and pozi as there are often products with deep holes that we cannot get into with the standard length bits that come with the set.

LTT bits are already longer than the bits that come in iFixit kits.

If they're still not long enough, you should really just use dedicated fixed-shaft drivers at that point.

Maybe, but the JIS and Pozi bits would be much appreciated by many here. I do have a precision set with long bits and use it very often, so much so many bits are worn out. Would love a second box of LTT precision bits to replace this. For LTT it would be minimal development too, a different insert for the case and a set of bits probably already designed by their manufacturers. If it included the right set of bits it could sell well

The bits are within tolerance of a standard size, if you need some super-niche stuff.

Pozi is hardly niche nor are JIS bits. Many people don’t realise they are unscrewing JIS bits as Philips tends to fit, until you round off a small and tight one because you are using the wrong bit. The angles on J are slightly different, enough so that on the smaller sizes it becomes an issue. Quite a lot of Japanese products use these, something many don’t even realise. Many of the bits already in the kit are more niche. Here is a bit of info on JIS from iFixit who do include them in their Pro, Manta and Mako sets

As for deep Pozi, Torx and Philips bits, sure, these are less often needed. But quite often manufacturers deliberately ad one ore two deep holes just to stop the average joe from opening their product. I was changing the rechargeable cell just yesterday in a small “pocket” Bluetooth speaker which had just this kind of deliberately obstructive design.

Anyway, this is more of a sales idea for LTT and one that I think could sell well for very little effort. I would almost certainly buy such an expansion pack.

Pozidrive 0 and 1 are currently included in the Precision Bit Set + Case.

JIS drivers aren't commonly made anymore because the standard has been discontinued for awhile. However, Phillips head bits/drivers made to the latest standard are compatible with JIS screws, and ours are made to that standard. There's a whole rabbit hole you can go down with this but the long the short of it from my understanding is that design aspects from the JIS standard were merged into the Phillips standard in 2006.

Unlike with our full-sized screwdrivers, our precision bits are not made to a unique length and any 4mm bits sourced from a third party would be fully compatible with the Precision Screwdriver. You can augment your bit selection with third party bits if anything needed for your workflow is missing from the kit.

Sadly, JIS are still commonly used in new products. Philips will damage them in the smaller sizes in big part to the angled cut vs the square cut of JIS. You can instantly feel the poor fit, especially in the J000 and J00 sizes. Having said that, it is great to know that you have stuck to the 4mm standard. So I will obtain some elsewhere. Maybe you could sell an unmarked, empty, case so that people can extend their sets.
