I was getting some work today on my Mac when I got a notification from my time machine app saying there was insufficient space on my time machine backup disk. However, this doesn't make sense because it is on a share on my Unraid NAS and has ample space available in the share. The server is a simple Unraid NAS and the TimeMachine backup is on a dedicated share with one other TimeMachine backup. If anyone has any idea why this could be happening, please let me know. Thank you!

I've had this issue a lot with Windows and moving large files/folders.

It claimed to not have enough space for a 20gb file [the nas had 34tb free space].

What helped for me was just a new folder on the share.

Unfortunately, Mac TimeMachine uses a dedicated virtual drive on a share of the server and that is where it backs up. The size of the virtual drive is what I believer is the issue and I do not know how to manipulate that.
