I just got a MSI b650-s Wi-Fi motherboard and a kolink Observatory MX mesh and one of my friends said the fans cannot be controlled and it comes with some sort of weird connectors. There's the RGB one but then there's also this kind of daisy chain one if I should get them powered. But does anyone else know how to get this working? Thank you!

Do you have a picture of the fans and connectors you are saying?

Some fans do have physical switches but you should still able to control them as regular 3pin fans via the motherboard (you may have to put the switch in the highest setting).

Unless it's a 12V powered fan...

Hence it would be nice to have a picture of the fan or known model.

Using software or firmware? You should be able to control 3-pin fans from the BIOS and 4-pin fans through softwares such as Fan Control

The daisy chain's female header goes into 4-pin connectors with a dummy-proof tab that sticks out, whether it's 4-pin or 3-pin

I'm sorry the picture I sent was blurry but the connector I have is male those look female

Those I marked are supposed to be connected to the motherboard (if I got them right)

No idea what yours is (probably RGB stuff).

Okay this doesn't make too much sense then because the only cable I seem to have is this one. Fans are spinning but I cannot seem to control them and disconnects has been left loose

If all fans are spinning then you're good. It doesn't matter if there's an extra header on the daisy-chain cable that isn't used.

Now it's just a matter of figuring out how to control your fans. Are they 3-pin or 4-pin fans?

How do I find out? And also I don't know if this matters much but They're not actually plugged into anything on the front of the motherboard. They're plugged into something in the bag. I'm not sure what that something is

For 3-pin fans it needs a PWM on the motherboard's header

Otherwise it's voltage-controlled solely by firmware

I have trouble understanding you "needs a pwm" ?

Every motherboard I know of is able to deliver both PWM and DC power to its fans.

On my motherboard I have to set DC or PWM in the Bios depending on the fan type I'm using.

I currently manage 3 DC fans with FanControl (because the Arctic P12 is good and cheap)
