My main use cases:

Gaming (GTA5, AoE2:DE, and probably in the future, soon some new games that may take CPU power)

Work-wise, I do programming, machine-learning involving LLMs like LLaMa, Distilbert, T5 etc, as well as occasional video-rendering.

I got the 9700X because my budget was too tight to get the 9900X, or 9950X. The 9800X3D was sold out here in Taiwan long ago.

Those who have the same CPU with similar use case as I do, how good is the performance of the 9700X when it comes to these tasks?

GPU: RTX4080 Super

RAM: 32GB (16x2)

The 9700x is aright, but is not much different from the 7700x. I would recommend a 7900x for what you plan on doing instead if you can get it for around the same price.

For those a 9700x will be amazing compared to a 7700x due to the buffed up AVX-512.
