Im honestly so close to start pulling out hairs. This laptop (MSI katana 17 B12VFK) refuses to see either of my 2 SSDs INCLUDING THE ONE IT CAME WITH. all I did was remove the original ssd, took it to a friend, wiped it and brought it back and now it’s refusing to detect any drive in the installer. They show up in the bios but that is it. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Reset your bios to default settings and make sure you're in AHCI and not Raid mode for the storage controller.

Im a little stuck I’m not sure how to go to that mode

This is what I find when googling your bios.

To access and change the SATA mode on an MSI laptop with Click BIOS, navigate to "Settings" > "Advanced" > "Integrated Peripherals" where you will find the "SATA Mode" option to adjust the desired setting like AHCI or RAID mode

Think you have to either download IRST drivers from MSI website for that laptop, extract into the windows usb drive, and load them on windows setup:

https://www.msi.com/faq/notebook-1995

Or if that doesnt work, disable that VMD controller in BIOS that is grayed out tho. Might need to enter the hidden menu with: Right Ctrl + Right Shift + Left Alt + F2. This will show hidden settings. System Agent > Intel VMD and disable it.
