GOG now offering Game streaming through Prime Gaming, and it's pretty ok !

So I was doing my usual claiming of free games on all the sites, and I saw that Telltale's The Expanse was only available on Prime Gaming Streaming and not as a local game. Since I have been wanting to play it for a long time, and I figured the nature of these story-driven games means latency is not such a big problem, I gave it a go and spent 8hrs or so playing through the entire game. It was a great game, and the streaming experience worked surprisingly well. My controller functioned right away, and I thought I would be willing to do it again. THEN, I saw that they have a partnership with GOG, and I don't know if this is a new thing or not, where you can play certain titles that you bought on GOG and fully own through there, not just the rotating subscription titles, on Prime Gaming Streaming Service. So far it seems to be included with the normal Amazon Prime sub, just like the base level of Prime Gaming, and I think it's a pretty cool feature. It allows you to play your games on a phone or tablet, your tv, etc at home or on the go. Has anyone else given it a try, and if so did it work well for you? Did you try with a GOG game by chance?

*** Added Later:  Not to mention not everyone can afford a steam deck or something similar for on the go gaming, and it allows people who may not have the money, or just inclination, to build/buy a gaming PC to play these titles, some of which are PC only releases.

It seems like a lot of people just have no idea how this kind of a service works, nor can they see the possibilities it opens up for folks who may have an Amazon delivery subscription, but may not have money or inclination to buy a PC, a Dedicated Portable Gaming device, or perhaps just aren't able to pay for ANOTHER service just for game streaming specifically. I have been hooking up my kids phones to be able to play these titles while in the car, etc, and its been great! SO great, in fact, that 2 of the 3 have stopped asking for the portable gaming devices they had wanted for Christmas. (The youngest still wants a switch because of the Nintendo Game Library, which isn't available here obviously.)

What do other people think about this seemingly free upgrade in functionality to your Amazon Prime sub?

No of course Prime is not free. I think most people get it for the shipping though, so anything else is a "Free" upgrade for me. (What I meant was also that they aren't charging an added fee on top of the usual base Prime to use the GOG games on the Luna Service.) As to the streaming, I don't understand what your talking about DRM for in this case. You can buy the game on GOG, and own it without DRM. Then you can stream that game through Luna if you WANT. It's not a streaming only copy of the game, it's just a normal GOG game purchase like anything else you buy on their site. The fact that they let you stream it, on Luna though as well, is awesome, and has nothing to do with adding DRM. Unlike the NVidea's streaming service though, where from what I understand, you have to buy a copy of the game on THIER storefront and it doesn't carry over off the streaming service. Maybe that's not the way it works for NVidea's service, that's just what I think I understood from what I've heard. You can just buy game on GOG, play it locally, or just stream it on Luna to phones, or a TV, or other devices not hooked to your PC, seems like a no brainer for added value to me...

This is neat! You still own the game (I presume) and can stream it on devices that won't handle them well.

I don't understand your comment. Its just a video stream of the game from the Amazon server, just like Netflix or anything else, the compute is not happening on the device. It plays just fine, for game streaming at least. Or since you own it, you  can go play it on your PC instead and crank up the settings while lowering your latency. You have choices, play it locally, play it via stream, do what you want. Choices ARE neat. You don't need to use them if you dont want to but that doesn't mean other people won't, as evidenced by the NVidea streaming service being able to RAISE their pricing because its going so well for them.
