Ram locking mechanism doesn't unlock

Go to solution Solved by Skiiwee29,

Thats normal. Lots of newer boards only have 1 side that unlocks. just seat the bottom side first, then top and click in place to win

Hello everyone,

I bought a new MSI B660M-A Pro motherboard and as I was installing ram sticks, I found out that the locking mechanism on the bottom side of the ram slots do not unlock.

The top side mechanisms do unlock successfully. On the top side, there is a little gap between the actual locking mechanism and the slot, whereas it's absent on the bottom side. I have attached the relevant photos.

English is not my first language, therefore sorry if it seems confusing. Any help is appreciated.IMG_20241208_235214.thumb.jpg.71d94000dc265a598873450694f2d764.jpgTop side, gap exists and unlocks successfully.IMG_20241208_235229.thumb.jpg.13f93e7f8b62a69e3c290398620dd2b5.jpgBottom side, no gap, cannot unlock.

Okay, thank you so much. This is my first ever build and I had no idea. Thank you very much.
