I've been amassing a whole collection of eBooks in various formats (namely Mobi, ePub and PDF)

and I realize I'd much rather read them while holding them in my hand rather than from my computer at a desk.

So I wonder if there's any particular eBook readers anyone would recommend that would support all of these

formats and that I can simply plug in and dump my files in like any other storage device. I don't want to have to go through any extra hurdles of making a third party service account to do that.

Thanks.

Well, I have the Kobo Libra 2, which is now replaced by the Libra Colour. That should one fit the bill.

Or you could go with the Tolino Vision Colour.

The Kindles do manage epubs now too, I think.

And there are others...

For all of those you need the free app Calibre to manage and download books on the reader.

If you're mostly reading you can spare yourself the colour part but strangely the B/W devices are getting scarce and expensive.

I'm willing to swim against the current.

Not natively, but you can use Amazon's Send to Kindle to send a file to your Kindle and it'll convert it to a format that the reader understands. It requires an Amazon account to use, but if you own a Kindle that's already a given.

As the page says, it supports PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, HTM, HTML, PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, BMP and EPUB.

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply

I use Readera on my smartphone ... if your tablet is android based, it should work fine.

Minimal nagging, maybe once when you start it it asks to review it or to get the pro/premium version, but otherwise no nagging or annoyances whatsoever.

Reading books is easy with ReadEra - an app for reading books, magazines and documents, allows you to read books for free, read scientific journals and magazines for free, read articles and documents of different formats in one app
