Extremely loud 'pop' when I start a discord call. Never used to be there.

It's really only a minor annoyance, but it bugs me quite a lot.

Ive got a 5800X3D, Rog B550A w/32gb DDR4, RX 7900XT, and 2 NVMe Drives and 1 Sata drive. And an RM750X.
OS is Windows 11 Home. Currently now running the HyperX Cloud III out of my USB-C port on the motherboard.
In-Game audio seems to be fine after updating the motherboard's audio drivers (which was done out of yet another attempt to eliminate the occasional audio "pop" from my system, usually only when starting / stopping certain sounds but it's mostly gone now), but it came with some Asus sonic suite, which I played around with for a bit before setting everything back to default and uninstalling it.

Now, for some reason, whenever I start a discord call to a mate, I get a really loud "click" in my audio about 0.5 second into the calling tune. Again, it's not a biggie, but considering how many steps I've gone through to try and remove any traces of audio popping from my system and it STILL happens here and there... I feel like I'm going a bit mad.
Stalker II has the odd pop when moving between different areas in underground buildings and a couple of other very niche scenarios, and it's very subtle. I've heard others reporting it with this game too.
RDR2 has its own issues with the occasional "pop" audio that's been complained about for years.

Started playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle today and I haven't had a single audio pop or crackle, so good so far.

My issue is, I just want these pops gone, or as far to it as I can get. I've got a fairly good motherboard (with a shielded realtek controller, nichicon audio capacitors, etc), and I'm running HyperX CLoud III's which have their own inbuilt DAC, I've got more than enough CPU and RAM that nothing should be holding anything up. Losing my mind a bit. Or should I just accept the odd pop with certain types of audio and stop being so autistic?

Ok, I fixed the loud "pop" in discord. Turns out it doesn't like the fact I was using a separate HyperX Solocast desk mic instead of plugging in the included headset microphone. It stopped as soon as I started using the headset's mic and unplugged the desk-mic. Oh well, no worries.

I'm still a bit annoyed about the odd popping sounds that crop up in certain games but I guess not much I can do about them.

Have you tried using a different audio output to see if it's hardware or software?  I know you said that you mostly solved it, but using say monitor speakers and trying that will help you know if it's your headset or not.

yeah so I went to try make a discord call again after thinking I'd fixed it by removing the desk mic and it still does it... it's super irritating. I don't have any other output methods to test it with.
