Hi everyone,

I apologize in advance for slight ramblings.

I've just seen that the Ryzen 7600x3d have come to an e-tailer in my country, and the combination of low power usage and high gaming performance makes it really ideal for me.

But. But but but...

I looked at the full costs of an upgrade to am5 including a 7600x3d, and it would land around 4700 DKK.

For comparison a 5700x3d currently costs 1600 DKK, and I already have the platform.

And another big but: My 5600x works perfectly fine for now. I don't know if it's just FOMO because I can actually get my hands on the 7600x3d right now. On the other hand going to the am5 platform would be viable for further upgrades and the 7600x3d would be a meaningful upgrade.

I don't know. I'm probably too frugal to use so much money that I don't stricktly need to spend, anyway.

But what do you think. Would you jump at the opportunity and get a 7600x3d?

mITX is awesome! I regret nothing (apart from when picking parts or have to do maintainance *cough*cough*)

If you don't feel your current CPU is limiting for you then keep waiting until something is a big enough jump to be worth it. Maybe 9600X3D will exist by then.

I suppose that at 1080p your CPU is limiting performance, and the 7600X3D will be a huge boost, it's like 30% faster

Plus you can sell it later to upgrade to a better AM5 chip like 9800X3D, board and RAM wil be compatible

The price seems decent - yet you don't tell what board and RAM you'd get- so I'd rather say go for it !

Thats a very good point. And as I said, it seems silly to spend so much money that isn't strictly necessary. I guess I just miss tinkering with my pc.

I specced it out with a mATX b650, I think it was ROG, but will have to do some more research before deciding, and a 32 GB of 6000/CL 30 ram.

I do play around with DLDSR at 1440p to get more milage out of my gpu, but I'm aware that I'm probably constraining it a bit with the 5600x.

Thanks for both your answers. What I'm also hearing is that I should not go for the 5700x3d. Either wait a bit more or go for it.

I'll probably keep flip flopping for some time without pulling the trigger 😅

But it was nice to get some feedback on my thoughts
