Budget (including currency):  CDN$3 000 or so

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly it will be used for Cities Skylines 2 and Forza

Other details: I currently have a 5600X. I plan to use my existing GPU (3080 10GB), PSU (Seasonic 800w?), AIO (Lian Li Galahad 360), 2TB m.2 NVME (Samsung 970 EVO Plus), Case (Lian Li 011D XL) and case fans.  Some old HDDs also.

I wonder if my plan to use these existing parts will work well with a 9800X3D, Gigabyte X870E AORUS PRO and G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory. Money isn't really an issue. I plan to eventually upgrade my GPU to something else, probably a 5080 when it comes out. I want to make sure the motherboard and RAM will work well together with a 9800X3D.

Should I look at RAM with tighter timings than the ones i chose (30-40-40-96).

I don't really need more storage since I have a NAS, but I will probably get another NVME at some point, maybe even right away.

I figure I may need a new PSU once I decide on a new GPU in the near future.

I plan on giving my old stuff eventually to my sister or brother which ever of the two actually want the stuff. I will need to get new stuff to put together with my old build. Currently my sister has my old i7 2700k with an RX580.
