Z fold 3 speaker is dying. Is there a small type c speaker I can just plug in so I don't need to get a new one? I will also take advice on reparing it

A z fold 3. The biggest problem it will cause is for my alarms. Right now, it won't work when unfolded, and when folded, it would randomly start either have no volume, or max volume with static. It would be temporarily "fixed" by unfolding and refolding.

To me, this sounds like an issue with the flex cable. So my options are to just get a speaker, ideally a very low profile one, or to repair it myself. I prefer to not buy a new phone if I can help it.

If I do go for the repair route, if you can give any advice, I will take it. I seem like I only need to remove the front screen, board, speaker and flex cable, which this guy made it look easy.

Alternatively, you could get a bluetooth speaker such as SONY SRS-XB13, JBL Go 3

Or my personal favourite, get a dongle from USB-C to 3.5mm jack, that looks like this picture below

The picture seems to be a power bank with "no dangling wires" form factor, but I can imagine it looks like a pill Bluetooth speaker

IMO, I think there's a reason why this form factor of wired speaker doesn't take off. It adds weight to the phone which makes holding it long time would put strain on your hand, only does "mono" right sound (if you're holding phone on landscape mode) and even if it can do stereo, it requires a phone stand in portrait mode.

If you concern on the latency or battery efficiency on the cons of Bluetooth speaker, most Bluetooth speaker also has headphone jack slot (in addition of dongle obviously), so you can do wired connection from phone to the speaker, but no one till now makes "no dangling wires" like on the picture AFAIK
