WD blue sn580 ssd firmware question

I got this brand new nvme ssd recently and i found out that there is an issue with the recent win 11 24h2 update. Western Digital have released a firmware update to fix. Judging from WD site forum they restrict the HMB size to the 64mib. I have two questions. I am still running on 23h2, do i have to update the firmware now since i'm not affected? And if i do update it will the firmware decrease the performance of the ssd since it is limited to 64, if not mistaken is 200mib. I'm not very familiar with these terms...

Or perhaps i should wait for a Microsoft fix..?

You can, you don't have to, firmware updates don't or shouldn't erase anything, it's just an update to the hardware that operates the M.2 SSD (so no blackouts during update)

I did that with my two SN770's while already on 24H2 a few weeks back, took 3 seconds and didn't skip a beat. No, there is no performance change.

Yes, shouldn't... But one fw update on my 850 pro did ( but i did expect it so had a backup ready ), and funny just one, the other fw updates on it, didn't erase the data...
