Hi guys I need your help and advice I have a gaming PC with a 5600x 32GB 1TB NVME SSD along with an Intel ARC A770 16GB GPU would I be better off just using a type 2 hypervisor for my homelab with Windows server or a mini PC with a type 1 hypervisor I have a lifetime license for HexOS I purchased for 99 dollars but I'm on the fence if it will work for a homelab or not or if I should use proxmox. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

I'd try using hyper-v on your gaming PC(its a hyper 1 hypervisor too) and see if you have issues if you don't have the mini PC already.

I'd generally want to use Proxmox or other hypervisor for home lab use as it has much better vm support and hex OS is still beta.

Use Proxmox. HexOS (i.e. thinly veneered TrueNAS) is not a great VM host comparatively.
