Pc won’t boot after taking a ram stick out and putting it back in.

can’t remember the cpu. 
my PC was working just fine until I pulled one of the ram sticks to show a friend that it’s really not that hard to build a PC. It was powered down and disconnected from wall power. Now it won’t boot. I have taken it out, cleaned the slot with compressed air. And still no boot. Swapped the round sticks, nothing. Put only one in and nothing. Took the GPU out and the ram sticks, did a CMOS reset. Nothing  i’m doing it’s fixing it, the only light that is on the motherboard is for DRAM and that has been always on. Please help. 
Also, my keyboard and mouse are not lighting up, and there is no signal to my monitor.

testing it outside of the PC. It’s a short between the motherboard and probably a standoff. I’m going to insulate the connections between the standoffs and the motherboard.

The stand-offs are ground points for the motherboard to the case/chassis, the stand-offs SHOULD short.

The rest/bulk of the motherboard should not be shorted to the case.

You don't want isolated/floating grounds.

 

Did you re-insert the RAM stick into the slot properly?

Only the top of the DIMM slot has a locking tab, the bottom does not.
