Hi.

I'm building a PC for my younger brother for christmas out of some old parts I have lying around. However he wants a new case for it with RGB lightning. The case he wants is the Thermaltake S200 tg snow ARGB.

I'm not sure how to connect the new ARGB fans included to the old motherboard. The motherboard is an Asus H81M-D PLUS with an Intel I5 4590 in it.

Can I just connect it directly, or do I need some kind of converter? If so, will this one work: https://www.amazon.com/EZDIY-FAB-Converter-Transfer-Splitter-Motherboard/dp/B082KJH2T3

I know it isn't the best, but it is literally way better than the old laptop he currently has. It can barely run Roblox.

Thanks in advance.

Ok. Thanks for the reply.

I take it that the specific one that I linked will work?

No, that's RGB not ARGB.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

Which controller do I need then? Can you recommend something? The attached picture shows what the motherboard manual says about the chassis fans.
