The 7600 is one of thr best mid tier gaming CPUs on the market.

Obviously the cards aren’t out yet so no one can actually gauge how things work; but as a general statement: you could throw a 4090 in there just fine.

7600 is a good cpu. I'm waiting for the amd's 8800xt pricing but I'm hoping that arc b580 would be good. I mean the only thing that it really needs to do is to be compatible with older games. Something that the first gen, wasn't able to do in it's first years. With the name and pricing, they actually reminded of amd's rx 480/580, who also completed with nvidia's xx60 level card, gtx 1060.

I got a amd cpu and im thinking about buying the arc b580 gpu when it comes out. Would it be bad to pair them together, (my cpu is a r5 7600)

unless you want to be a beta tester, just wait or buy one of the known cards.

Yes. It's fine to pair an AMD CPU with a GPU from AMD, Intel or Nvidia. Just as its fine to pair an Intel CPU with a GPU from AMD, Intel or Nvidia.

Whether that particular GPU is worth a purchase, wait for reviews to come out. Unless it has significantly better price to performance, you might want to stick to a more established brand.

Arc is in its second generation. Drivers have improved a lot, but there could still be issues with the odd game here or there. Reviews should hopefully reveal whether or not that is the case.

It was already well known for decades that you should only pair Intel CPUs with Intel GPUs

But yes you should get the B580 because it has been extensively reviewed and outperforms the 4090.

Consider backing whatever comes up next on Kickstarter as well
