Hello again.

So, I have Corsair RM850x for my PC.

I was wondering do I have to change my PSU if I want to use Nvidia 4000 series card that uses 12VHPWR?

Also, if I buy the new GPU, do they include the 12VHPWR cable or do I have to buy it separately?

Thanks in advance!

You can use the old PSU with RTX 4000 series of GPU's.

All RTX 4000 series of GPU's that use the new power connector will come with an adapter in the box.

The 4080 for example comes with a adapter in the box that I used with my own older RM750i.

Its a 3x8pin to 16pin ( 12VHPWR ) adapter.

If you want to use a native 12VHPWR or 12v2x6 cable you need a new PSU that supports this.

In addition to the included adapter, Corsair sells a dedicated cable for their PSU's specifically for this. In fact Corsair's latest RM850x's come with this cable in the box, they don't do 12VHPWR on the PSU itself, smartly. All of their solutions involve this cable:

Both available at your countries local retailers.

That's not true.

I just bought the latest RM1000x 2024 model ATX 3.1 and it only came with a single cable.

It is the new updated 12V-2x6 cable however.

News to me. Sucks, putting that connector on the PSU is another point of failure and they held out for so long doing it the best way.

Regardless, OP doesn't need to use the adapter or buy a new PSU. Corsair has a robust cable for the job if the they want it to look better.
