when you log into their site for the first time (atm idk if later)

 

due to usa  regulation better has is now required to have one on file.

Most Crypto exchanges and services have required this for some time, 

It's called KYC(Know your client) and is mandated under UK, EU, US, Canadian, Australian, and South African laws... Probably mandated by other countries too that I don't know of. Under UK law I have to give them my photo ID, legal name, Date of birth, address, and National Insurance number(NI Number of our personal tax code, also used for social and healthcare) 

 

If the US is only just now requiring this, they are very much behind the curve on this one

Behind the curve? The US doesnt even know the curve exists. 

 

From my understanding the crypto exchanges were required to provide tax documentation to account holders and report sales of crypto to the IRS. That was the last I heard. Id imagine the would have to have some kind of ID information for tax purposes. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

correct their was laws talk about for the other info but never  really pass.

from what i dug up. the put this into the gov keeps running bill as pork.
