IDK if this is the right place to post this so please point me in the right direction if I am in the wrong spot.

Around 4 years ago I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Flex 2 alpha laptop for university and about 2 years ago I upgraded a monitor in my room to the Samsung M7 smart monitor. for about a year I always connected the two together via USB-C to do homework on the monitor but one day it randomly quit working, so I thought no big deal, plugged in an HDMI cable, and continued on my way. this year my university got a bunch of monitors and put them into study rooms in the library with the only connection offered being usb c. at the beginning of this semester my laptop connected just fine and i was still using HDMI to connect my laptop to my m7 monitor. however recently my laptop has completely stopped detecting the monitors I connect to. I also have a Galaxy Tab S10 with the super display app downloaded onto it allowing me to use my tablet as a second screen with my laptop via usb-c and that still works flawlessly. I also have usb-c flash drives and those work on the laptop when detected as well. i have checked and used multiple different compatible displays, all the drivers are up to date, no windows or graphics updates are available. idk if this is also important but when i plug my tablet into the monitor to use dex it automatically displays a notification stating the USB device is not supported. I have spent 2 hours on the phone with Samsung TV/Monitor and Laptop support and got hung up on after being told they didn't know what was wrong. What do you guys think is wrong and what can i do?

Thank you for your help in advance
