Hey guys, im planning on finally building my first PC after 10 years of being stuck on my starting PC. Its getting very old now and i cant play a lot of the new games i would like to play, like "the finals", gta 6 or Hogwarts Legacy. My Budget is limited though so id like to keep it under 2000 CHF but i want to get the maximum performance i can for that pricetag. Goal is 30fps and fullHD for Most Games. My current build comes out at around 1900CHF but im planning to buy during Cyberweek sales next week. Like i said, this is my first PC Build ever, i had some help from a friend who knows a bit and has built one already. Im looking for General Feedback. Specifically id be interested on feedback on wether it is worth getting the rtx 4070ti super over the rtx 4070 ti concerning wether the additional price is worth it for the gained performance. Also im not really sure about the motherboard and wether its a good choice for the build. Also: Is the i5 a good choice or would i7 be better? Please let me know if you see any issues and wether everything is compatible and wether i can save some money at certain points.

looking forward to your feedback thx:)

Budget (including currency): 1500-2000 CHF

Country: Switzerland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: New AAA Games, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

My partlist for now with current best deals i found in CHF:

CPU: i5-14600k
GPU: rtx 4070ti or rtx4070 ti super
Motherboard: MSI Pro Z790-P WIFI, LGA 1700, ATX
RAM: Corsair Vengeance, 2x 16GB, 6000 MHz, DDR5
SSD: WD Black SN850X, 2000 GB
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 CHromax, 165mm
Case: Fractal Torrent Black Solid
Power supply: Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 ATX 3.0, 850 W

You said your goal is 30fps 1920 1080?

That gpu can handle more than that. I use a 4060 8gb and it can deliver 60fps at FullHD, and if the game supports a newer version of DLSS it won't break a sweat.

You mentioned Hogwart's Legacy, that game support DLSS version 3.x I think.

Be sure to update the bios first thing you do, to avoid the cpu degradation on most of Intel's raptor lake series.

If you''re going to use Windows 11 I can recommend doing a custom installation with Rufus tool and disable Bitlocker.

If you're going to play online games some does experience trouble with Windows 11 24H2 and games using Easy Anti Cheat (EAC).

LGA1700 is dead and offer you little headroom, get a B650 motherboard and a 9600X, you can easily upgrade to a x3d series and future am5 socket cpus, plus you can cheap out on ram and aim for 6000c30 only without much need to oc them like on intel 7200+ mts.

Yeah but they also want to play "new AAA games", which if taken literally could struggle on 4060 due to how some of those games can be demanding or barely optimized on launch

How much for Ryzen 7600 + ASRock Pro RS/ASRock HDV/M.2 motherboard? cheaper or more expensive than 14600k + Z790-P?

9600X+ b650 should offer similar prices, at least it's the case on german amazon

9600x is on average 50-80$ more than 7600/7600x with almost same performance

4070 Ti vs Ti Super isn't really huge leap, sure the Ti Super is faster but the most notable difference is the VRAM size,

basically the jump is similar to Super vs Ti, but the price jump is significantly bigger...

This will do MUCH more than 30FPS HD, 4070Ti is a very good 1440p and passable 4K card, think about upgrading your monitor !

Good build but case and cooler are pretty expensive ones, you could save on that

should be getting a 4080 for the equivalent of 2150€ budget

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/bPVDxg

9800x3d + 4080s + 32gb 6400c32 (eff 6000c32)

i guess it is abit of a stretch to get a 9800x3d but youll definitely be able to get the 4080s and not be stuck on a dead platform and the psu is 1000w with a 10 year warranty

you should be able to get somewhat close to this for your budget given you pick your parts diligently and not throw money away on nonsense like ridicolously fast ssds that you wont use or overpriced coolers that are long outdated and only worth getting 5+ years ago when they would have paid themselves off with the long term support and still high end performance

quiet a bit cheaper actually: asrock pro goes for: 135 CHF while msi pro z790-p goes for 189 CHF and ryzen 5 7600 goes for 173 CHF while i5 14600k goes for 243 CHF

Yeah, so you could actually go AMD route if you're not against that option, you'd be setting yourself up on a platform that plans to release more CPUs for the socket.

Are there any special features you need in things like Motherboard/case?

I'm going to make a list, and you can check for each part, because there's going to be multiple, which one could be cheaper in your country:

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/TFHb8Q

Of course, you could downgrade RAM and GPU, GPU is fine, but more RAM allows you to have more complex projects if you ever plan that in the future.

People render with GPU in Blender. Its a nice benchmark for cpu reviews but its not really used that much.
