Im intrigued by, and want to try out hall effect keyboards.

For context I daily drove the original Keychron Q3 knob + Q0 which i modded a bunch but changed over to the CIDOO V87 + V21 just for the tri-mode connectivity.

What am i looking for:

  1. Layout with proper function row, usual location for delete key (for my second PC, I have the GMK81 keyboard with a weird delete key position and it drives me crazy.)
  2. Wireless 2.4GHz dongle connectivity (I don't care if the keyboard supports 8KHz polling rate on wired, if the best CS pro players in the world is happy with 1KHz on the Logitech G PRO Wireless mouse, as someone who is not anywhere close to their skill level I would take a wireless keyboard with a lower polling rate any day of the week.)
  3. Software that lasts (I don't have anything against cheap Chinese brands but their software doesn't have the best track record, I'm okay with reduced functionality compared to established brands like Wooting, Corsair or Razer, but I want to be able to download the software 10, 20 years down the road, and these Chinese brands software longevity are questionable at best. Maybe one day a VIA equivalent for HE keyboards will solve this issue, but as of now I don't think it exist. As an example, the GMK81 has a LCD and I doubt the software will still be available to download 10 years later. )
  4. Volume knob (optional but nice to have.)

The only keyboard I know that fits is the Keychron Q3 HE QMK Wireless but the somewhat proprietary switch is a slight turn off. Is there another keyboard that fits my requirements? If so what are they, and if not, should i get the Keychron or should i wait for something else to come out?

To be honest, I don't think there is one yet.

Q3 QMK might be the closest, but the switch ecosystem for Hall Effect switches is mostly proprietary at this point. Apart from obvious mechanical issues (fit, magnet position/orientation) the only other difference is the flux. So you could try to figure out which other switches are unofficially compatible with the Gateron double rail HE.

Proprietary switch is kind of an exaggeration. There are very few HE keyboards on the market and everyone is using their own implementation. You can either consider everyone as being "proprietary" or you can wait to see which one will be the more commonly used one, or if multiple ones will co-exist. e.g. HD-DVD vs Blu-ray, or HDMI + DisplayPort.
