I have a budget of ~$350 and want to play at 1440p I also dont really care about dlss or any ai stuff. Ive narrowed my options down to a new rx 6800 (the used rx 6800 prices are pretty similar to new prices) for $350, a used rx 6800xt for $360, and an rtx 3080 for $380. I'm using the card for gaming and I also want to start getting into modeling with blender, which does make the amd options less appealing from what ive heard online, but considering I'm only planning to do it recreationally with probrably only a few renders a month, I don't think it'll be a very big deal. I personally have my eyes on the new rx 6800, but I would like to consult with the community.

1. What is your appetite for the risk of getting a paperweight or nothing at all

2. What is your appetite for not having warranty

3. Will Blender not work with an AMD card?

4. Are you accepting 10GB of VRAM for what you are mostly using the card for?

If a used gpu delivers a considerable step up in value, im willing to take a risk with buying used, and same with the warranty part. As for vram, I dont really play any single player games, but I am just starting to get interested in the genre, and 10gb seems a little scary especially going forward, so i just feel a little mixed about vram. Blender also does run on amd gpus, its just that the performance of it is a little mediocre compared to nvidia especially for situations where you're rendering many large scenes. Amd gpus also used to have a lot worse support, but amd gpus now have pretty good support, just not very good performance, so i should be fine. Sorry about leaving all that out.
