Hello everyone

I am helping my friend build his very first PC. This is what I have come up with after doing research. Please let me know if this works or if I need to change or upgrade anything. Though I am planning to get a few parts from the US, if they fit in my budget, I might get them from India itself.

P.S.: I have selected parts that might be easier to find in India.

Budget (including currency): ₹ 1,20,000 (~$1400)

Country: India

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: My primary usecase is gaming (example: Ghost of Tsushima), but i occasionally code as well.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

So,

you can get 7600 instead of 7600x, you won't see the performance difference once you enable PBO,

these CPUs don't need much cooling, so you can cool them by a modest Air Cooler, they can even stay cool enough with stock cooler if they come with one,

Motherboard is good, there might be few that could be cheap, but you'd have to check,

RAM is good, could be 30-32CL instead of 36CL,

the 2TB SSD, if it costs 140$ is quite expensive, and can be beaten by alternative, unless it's cheaper in your country,

your builds doesn't have case yet,

Deepcool PN750M is actually good PSU, so if it's within budget, it's a good choice,

and then GPU, 4070 Super GPU is decent,

you could get a cheaper/better AMD GPU, that just doesn't get the luxury of specific Nvidia features,

cheaper but similarly fast AMD GPU can allow for faster CPU, or similar priced AMD GPU sometimes is better choice for higher resolutions than 1080p,

  • 7900 XT is about 20% faster than 4070 Super if you don't use any upscaling features, also has 4GB more VRAM
  • 7900 GRE, 7800 XT, 6900 XT, 6950 XT are about similarly fast, but some of them might be cheaper (in most countries they are noticeably cheaper)
  • There are also options like 6800 XT that are still on par with 4070 (non-Super) that might be cheaper
  • Or 6800 and 7700 XT that are slightly worse than 4070 but also significantly cheaper than both (usually) - potentially allowing faster CPU like 7700/7700x Ryzen
