Is there a way to play multi player without a headset?

%90 of my gaming is single player. However, I've always spent some time playing co-op games with my brother.

After playing games with a good DAC, speakers, and sub for many years.. when I go to any pair of headphones/sets.. it just plain sucks. I've bought and returned more sets than I'm willing to say (lol). All were supposed to have "amazing," or "great bass." Some are better than others, but all of them make gaming worse for me. For example.. We only just got around to playing the Infinite campaign in co-op.. the tank sounds weak/pathetic compared to how it sounds with audio capable of actually producing lows.

On top of that.. I just generally do not like wearing headphones. I find them annoying. Closed ones also make me feel a bit claustrophobic.

Anyways.. is there a good way i could use a mic with speakers? I've seen some people do it on twitch but I cannot figure out how they are blocking the game audio.

Cheers. :)

They probably run something like RNNoise or the nVidia equivalent to pass machine learning over the mic.

- have plenty of echo cancellation in the room

- put the microphone behind the speakers, or have a microphone with a VERY specific pickup pattern

- have your mic shoved in your face, and dont have your speakers very loud.

also, make sure the noise gate is set right in your communication software of choice. it's fine if your mic picks up game sounds, as long as they are much quieter than your voice, you'll either overpower that sound, or noise gate will just mute it away.

but by definition, a nice bassy sound will pretty much always find it's way to your mic.

EDIT: also, nvidia, where the f*ck is rtx voice? this should have been in every board room in the world by now...

lol what i used to do is have headset right in front of me and have other people's voices coming out of my speakers... this is like 2005 tech... don't tell me you can't do that anymore nowadays...

you can also use discord, phone app, same deal, your phone has a mic, no need for a headset...

Try these headphones - Sennheiser HD 560S. Don't do gaming headsets, most of them suck. For the microphone, use anything you'd like, there's even a cable-attached one for the Sennheiser for $20...

Or, since you have issues with headphones, try IEM-s, for example the Simgot Supermix 4.

Yeah, I think the problem is they've been buying crappy "gaming" headsets instead of just good heaphones and a mic.

Basically if you have nvidia use rtx voice as a start.

Then for  mic get one that has a VERY NARROW CONE of a pickup pattern or has to be VERY CLOSE to even function.

If a narrow cone place it BEHIND the speakers.

Have a hanging cloth, anti noise foam,... Whatever behind you and in the corners of the room something to prevent echo so the mic doesnt pick stuff up.

Also on another not what headphones fid you buy? If its just gaming headsets or mediocre headphones then yeah obviouslt they wont sound as good AT ALL like decent speakers.

Get a dynamic microphone, and microphone arm, and play with it close to your face.
I use the FIFINE AM8 dynamic microphone, and I play Helldivers 2 with bookshelf speakers and a subwoofer. I have the microphone like 2 inches from my mouth when I'm speaking.

I have tried those. Many others. No headphones come even remotely close to actual speakers with a sub 😞

I have heard some decent in ears.. however, i have OCD about putting things in my ears 😞 lol
