[ Moved to New Builds and Planning ]

AM4 is a great price/performance pick right now, just remember you'll have to upgrade everything in the future because it's a dead end.

I recommend skipping the aftermarket cooler and thermal paste, and put that money towards a better power supply instead. It's not going to hurt anything to wait and buy another cooler later, since you're getting one included with your CPU. (Whereas if you need a better power supply later, now you've bought two power supplies.)

What are you doing for storage?

Are you open to shopping used?

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

I am open to shopping used and are you sure that the cpu will be fine without the aftermarket cooler and thermal paste?

Also, what Mobo do you suggest for a budgeted pc?

They wouldn't ship a processor with a cooler that's inadequate for it at stock speeds. And the boxed cooler will have thermal paste pre-applied.

I see a couple 5700X-es on eBay for about the price of that 5700. The 5700X has about double the Level 3 cache that the regular 5700 has, so it should be at least a little bit faster.

That GPU isn't much more than the price of a used 6750, so I'd stick with that.

yeah this looks reasonable although mhw  beta was quite the hog, but you should be able to run at low medium settings for sure.

BUT don't get that power supply, its terrible,  you can probably get a msi or corsair for ~20 bucks more... rather skip the fanhub or something.

The direction tells you... the direction

imma be real with you this is pretty terrible from the overspending on new am4 both board and cpu to the subpar cpu choice as its literally just a 5700g with no igpu (overpriced too) and the meh gpu that could be a cheaper and faster used rx 6800(xt) and the psu is pretty awful since you can get used rm850x or equivalent for around that price and not be some throwaway bronze unit you ditch upon any major upgrade

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/T2Y23w

8400f + 6800 + 32gb 6400c32

faster cpu, double the ram, platform isnt dead so you can drop in a newer cpu in the future without needing to replace the board nor rams

8400f are 86$ on aliexpress and much faster than a 5700 especially for singlecore

rx 6800 can be had for 250-300$ used and perform similarly to the 7700xt but 4gb of extra vram

ive also included a tb of storage but if you dont actually need the extra storage you can get a used 6800xt instead (~350$ or around used 3080 pricing) and/or a new 850w like the gf1 for 91$ with a 10 year warranty

case already has a bunch of fans so no need to buy fans
