I have a friend who went through a big move, and they had the moving company move their PC. I told him to remove the GPU since I know those are often damaged during transport. What I didn't expect was the Wraith Prism cooler to come loose. The plastic mounting bracket broke and the wraith prism dislodged, and also yanked the CPU out of the socket. Surprisingly not very many pins were bent and my friend was able to straighten them out and reinstall the cpu. He cleaned, repasted, installed the cooler and gpu and now it won't POST.

The motherboard is an Asus ROG Strix X370-F Gaming board and it has diagnostic lights on it. None of the diagnostic lights turn on during boot. All of the RGB lights up, the cpu fan spins for a moment, then it spins down again, and no post. I believe that if none of the diagnostic lights are turning on that usually indicates it's not making it far enough to check ram video card etc. So it's probably either the motherboard or CPU. I didn't see any physical damage to the motherboard when he showed me, but it was over video call. He put in a different known good CPU of the exact same model (5600X) that was working before the move. With the new CPU installed and a standard wraith cooler installed the fan stays spinning but still no POST.

Any other suggestions before we buy a different motherboard and try swapping?

Making sure the case does not come into contact with any part of the motherboard and other components.

Checking all cables and connectors to make sure they are all fully inserted.

Reseating all removable components. (don't forget the GPU, RAM and SSDs).

It may be worth clearing the CMOS memory.

If nothing works, try removing all components and rebuild the computer outside the case on a non-conductive surface.

Good luck !
