Folks! On my M1 Macbook Air, the 'tilde' key is next to shift, and where I'd expect tilde, next to '1', there's "§" Whatever that is.
I'd love to use that key instead of tilde for switching between windows in a certain app. i had it setup like that, but I cannot find out how and it's a tricky one to google.
I feel like they may have moved it. It's still possible in Sequoia, as it worked after the update, but I reinstalled my laptop yesterday and I just cannot figure it out.

And then; You used to be able to stop Textedit from synchronising with iCloud, so it just starts with an empty rather than booting up with some 'open from icloud' screen that I never asked for.
I don't see it where it used to be, and can't figure out how to get it to NOT try to sync with icloud. I just want a simple text editor, really.
Any idea?
Again; it IS possible in Sequoia, but since my reinstallation my settings are gone, and I'd like it back to how it was.

halp?
Thanks!

You can use Karabiner Elements to remap literally any key to any other key or even a series of keys. That's how I get tilde back above tab on my German keypboard layout Macbook air with en US Dvorak set in macOS.

I don't mind doing that if there's no other option, but it just used to be an option in MacOS?

No. In macOS you can remap keys like control, option, command, etc but you can't natively remap standard character keys.
