So, as the title says, I think I'm being denied support on Meta/Facebook.

There is absolutely no human support on the Meta support website or the Facebook support page. There is no way to get real support. As far as I've looked, there are only articles with slim support—no email, no live chat, no phone number to contact, which seems odd for such a big company.

Now, I want to mention that this is about my Facebook account, which is connected to my Meta account, which is also connected to my VR and Instagram. I don't really use the VR anymore, so I gave it to my younger brother so he could enjoy it. Yesterday, he got a pop-up saying, "Confirm your age by entering your birth year and day." He ignored it at first, but kept getting it, so he just put in a random birth year to make it go away. Then it told him, "It seems you're too young to play," and banned the account.

So, that in itself is very annoying, but I didn’t think it was a big problem at the time. I just followed the instructions in the VR. It led me to a link that told me to log in with my Instagram, Facebook, or Meta account, so I did (I've attached the screenshot I took of the prompt). It told me I could appeal the ban, but when I followed the link provided in the screenshot, it led me back to the login prompt from earlier. I logged in again, and the same thing came up. So, I followed the link again, logged in, and boom it goes into a loop. All I want from this post is to maybe get some advice or guidance since I have been trying to fix this for almost the whole day, and it's very annoying. I just want my brother to be happy and play some VR after school.

they're literally telling you to sue them... good luck or find a different hobby (lol)

ps: this is also why linking accounts is bad and you should thoroughly avoid it if at all possible

I do avoid it if i can but in this case i dint think to make a whole ass new facebook account just for the quest now im going to lose both my insta and facebook and everything i spent on the account i really if i could would seek legal assistance but i just don't have the means to do so i think this is some real B.s and they know they can do this. because whose gonna go up against a company like Facebook and win i wouldn't even have the money to get this to court its just upsetting to not be able to do anything against it.

Not really that you need "another account just for the quest", just that Meta's pretty hard on the "your account has to be in your name and whatever's done on it is thus done by you" so if you give the quest to someone else you need to wipe your account and have them use theirs.

Not really just a Meta thing, never share accounts in general at least unless you can 200% trust that person to never do something in your name you wouldn't want.

yeah, i agree, but there's a reason why some people don't have a facebook account or a "quest"...

and that's why, its a highly criminal organization, why would anyone want to be part of it?

All you can do is like complain on fb (ironically) or twitter... they have a twitter account, right?

you could also try a small claims case for a refund for the vr headset... but then again,  cant you just make a new account for that?

i mean, yeah, that's the one thing you really don't want to share an account with someone else, like why, just make a new account for the quest and for that person and problem solved, or rather avoided.

completely True. but i didn't do that since i had so many games on my account that it didn't really make sense to re-buy hundreds of dollar's worth of games when i already had them and i didn't really think my own brother would get 3 account's perma bannd. but then how often dose it happen to warrant such cautions masseurs for just sharing a vr headset between brothers.

well, clearly your brother is an issue, and needs to learn how to behave online.

If you do it again?  Don't let him use it, cuz he's been getting you banned.
