I have a very strong desktop. But i will get rid of it since i don't want to play that much. So i want to switch laptop or hand held ?

I want a laptop with decent speed and power to play videos at 2k.

Used or new doesnt matter . But I want a good device that will last me good amount of time.

I do plan to very light games such as minecraft and bad north etc. Storage is no problem since i can upgrade.

I want to watch anime/movies with it so i want to pick laptop. But should i pick steam deck or so ?

I really cant decide . Help me out.

Thanks

Speed & power should be irrelevant for that, you don't want your general purpose cores doing the decoding...
You want that offloaded to specialised hardware (on chip), so it does the decoding efficiently:

Codec support:
Intel: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Quick_Sync_Video
AMD: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Core_Next
Nvidia: https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-and-decode-gpu-support-matrix-new

yes but if cpu gets %100 at idle no matter what i do it would freeze and die. So i was atleast thinking i3/ryzen 3. And ssd ofcurse since i dont want to wait 5 minutes just to get in main screen.
