so i have a GTX 1650 and my second monitor as an old 900p VGA monitor so i had to buy display port to VGA. worked fine but when i open a game on my main monitor the second monitor flickers and glitches (as shown in pics) when no intensive load is being done it works fine like alt tabbing out. i tried mirroring both monitors to show the same thing and the same thing happened . tried freshly re installing drivers and the same thing happened. tried changing the port as my GPU has 2 display port and the same thing happened.

and then i tried using the same adapter on my main monitor the problem went to my main monitor

any idea why is this happening or how can i fix it?

If the problem follows the adapter, the problem is the adapter.

What's the adapter like? How does it look like?

Is it an adapter that converts 2 cables? Or is it a single cable that has 2 different ports on each end?

Try disabling everything that could distort the VGA signal, like DisplayPort supports sound transfer, but VGA is just video, so try disabling audio sent through the port going to your second monitor.

the adapter is displayport to VGA simple ill include an image if found on google, so i assume you are right ? u suggested i need to disable audio through the display port. how can i do that? the weird thing is this only accrue when a load is done on the gpu when no game or intensive load is done everything works perfectly so its bizarre, could it be something related to refresh rate ?

DisplayPort to VGA, FOBOIU DisplayPort to VGA Adapter 6 Feet DP to VGA Cable Connects DP Port from Desktop or Laptop to Monitor or Projector with VGA ...

perhaps...

refresh rate, resolution, other settings,

as for audio, you find that in the audio settings of Windows, let me see,

In Windows 10, this is how you navigate to Audio settings: (right click audio speaker on the bottom bar)

but in all Windows versions, when you get to these settings, all will look like this:

And in here, the disabling the sound is as easy as right-clicking the speakers that are representing the DP connection to the second monitor and disabling them,

  • While this doesn't guarantee that it will fix your glitching problem, it is worth a try as it doesn't really involve much effort, apart from finding the settings and the correct speakers to turn off...

have you tried checking the connector?

if I remember correctly, you said the problem travels with the cable, so it might just be bad cable

flickering is usually caused by a display driver issue or incompatible app, outdated drivers, improper cables, and errors in display settings.

i tried full re install of the drivers (maybe i did it wrong) problem remained
