Difference Between Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super BIOS Versions (90.04.76.00.DE vs 90.04.76.40.49)

Hey everyone,

I recently came across two BIOS versions for my Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC (GV-N207SGAMING-OC-8GC):

  1. 90.04.76.00.DE (released on June 27, 2019)
  2. 90.04.76.40.49 (released on June 29, 2019)

From what I can tell, both versions have the same specs—same GPU clock (1605 MHz), boost clock (1815 MHz), and identical memory (8GB GDDR6). However, I’m wondering if anyone knows what specific differences there might be between these two versions. Is there any noticeable difference in performance, stability, or bug fixes?

I’m curious if it's worth updating to the newer 40.49 version or if 00.DE is perfectly fine to stick with.

You can check out more details on these BIOS versions here: TechPowerUp.

Any insights or experiences with these versions would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Unless Gigabyte has a public change log for these BIOS versions somewhere, I doubt you'll find much. Could be some bug fix, or maybe a change in fan profile or similar. I don't see them adjusting clock speeds with a new BIOS version unless that fixes some issue (in which case they'd most likely lower them)
