It says "may be", meaning if you had one that it could be one potential cause, not that it is the definitive cause. Since you don't, you can rule that out.

 

I would check the backup drive for issues, e.g. S.M.A.R.T data, might be the drive itself is failing.

Server means you're backing up to some kind of NAS? Could also be issues on the network side in that case. Wireless or wired connection?
