Asus laptop Battery sometimes instantly discharges to 0% as soon as it is turned on without charger

The battery in my Laptop sometimes instantly discharges to 0 and shuts off as soon as I power on the device without the charger. If I power on with the charger then it stays near to the last known charge percentage. This dropping to 0 started happening in early 2023 as far as I remember. Laptop was bought in October 2020.
Is the battery a goner or is there something else at play here? There is no swelling in the battery though.
I suspect that one cell maybe weak or dying in the laptop and when it runs on battery power the laptop drains the whole cell because there is less voltage because of that faulty cell.

Here is my battery report:

Might help to list the model number, how you use the laptop, etc.

Also if you can post an image instead, probably more helpful. Most people don't like downloading random files.

Almost certainly. And Asus won't be any help getting a replacement.

Yes, Asus is charging nearly $150 for a replacement that too on pre-order basis.

OEM is $50-$70

Edited the post.

Laptop model is Asus TUF FX505DT, primary use is for making presentations. Since this 0% issue occurs I keep it connected all times. I tried bios reflashing but it didn't help.

Batteries are wear items. After 4 years, replace.

Try not to run on battery all the time unless you have to. I don't know your use, but I often see people using laptops on battery even if they are on a desk or somewhere where there is power. A battery only has so many charge cycles it is built for. Add heat etc.

They aren't made and pampered to last long. In an EV, there is ton of cooling, heating and smart technology to make them last 10-15 years. But not in a laptop. Laptops are disposable items.

I do the opposite. I turn on Asus 80% charge limit and use on AC power 90% of the time.

Buy a replacement battery on Amazon/eBay, I did a small search and lots of options popped up

Ebay is not available as a marketplace and Amazon doesn't have any battery with good reviews here.

I'd recommend buying an original battery or a known brand with UL listing or whatever batteries require.

Faulty batteries can cause ugly fires. Don't cheap out on battery.

Bruh just search "your laptop model" replacement battery

Amazon and eBay are just results based on my IP, you don't have to do the exactly same thing

Bruh, read the "full post before commenting" ↓↓↓. I already have options to get a battery, just buying from random options that pop up on random websites is just as idiotic as buying a 2tb thumb drive for 2$ from Temu is.

Thanks for the heads up. Already got quotation of Asus vs OEM sourced batteries. Let's see which one is better and if they cost too much I might just sell the laptop for a new one.

Good call. Evaluate the entire device before sinking money in. If it also lacks power or options you want, it is better to sell the old one. Or use it for a function not requiring battery.

I had used an old laptop for my living room TV for some years. Battery was dead, and power was just enough to watch Netflix. So that was a good way to recycle.

Sadly with lack of cooling, soldered everything and bad batteries, laptops are throwaway devices
