New PC - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I’m considering building a new system with the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D and would appreciate any suggestions for the best RAM and motherboard to pair with it.
I also already have the NH-U12A with dual fans, which should probably be good for the 9800X3D. Additionally, I have a 6900XT graphics card and a be quiet! Dark Power 13 1000W PSU.

Any 6000CL30 RAM, I prefer G. Skill.

 

Any B650 thru X870E board, as your I/O needs dictate.  I prefer Gigabyte boards, and would look at the Gaming X, Eagle AX, etc.

 

But you can't really go wrong with any B650 board, as they're almost all overbuilt to handle 7xxx series, 9xxxx series and forthcoming CPUs.

Which motherboard manufacturer would you consider the least problematic? Would you say Gigabyte?

I can't say.  I have had a half dozen Gigabyte boards, an ASRock / Asus / as well, but I haven't had an issue with ANY motherboard I have had in 35 years.

 

Probably why I just keep buying Gigabyte.  No startup issues, no BIOS issues, all my builds just turn on the first time and work.  

 

Now I've had issues with a Gigabyte 1080Ti, an EVGA PSU, etc.  But nothing mobo related.

 

So I am bad person to ask about what motherboard is reliable.  Cuz all mine have been.

It depends. Asrock is good at budget boards, and brands like MSI are a bit lacking in terms of their entry-level models but have good mid-range and high-end mobos. Asus has some issues with warranties and customer service. However, I am also not the person to ask when it specifically comes to mobo brands. Any will work just fine. It depends more on the specific board, not the brand.

How much is that board for you?

 

X870e is premium,and bit overkill.  Only buy if you want it.

I wouldn't send more than 200 on a board.  More price doesn't mean more faster.
