Hey,
So I am looking to replace my personal laptop (almost 12 years old Lenovo yoga) and wanted to get something higher end and thin and light.

No gaming, mostly documentations, streaming and light browsing while traveling.

I have seen some reviews for the Core Ultra 9 288V laptops from September and still not seeing any actual units for sale.

Googling release dates has not been helpful either.

I recently found this article on UltraBook review showing new laptops coming out with the Ultra 9 288V processors, but cant find them for sale here in the USA.

Am I missing something or have these laptops not been given a release date yet?

If someone has links to where to buy these here in the US, I would love some help.

Thanks.

You can find models with the 258V, which is really close to the 288V.

The multicore performance of those chips is pretty mediocre, so as long as you're not relying heavily on that, the 258V or 288V is quite capable. The iGPU and NPU it in is where those chips shine.

ASUS ExpertBook P5 WQXGA Laptop Copilot+ PC Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with 32GB Memory 1TB SSD Misty Grey P5405CSA-DH76 - Best Buy

This is at least one option I found quickly, though I think there's OLED versions for a few hundred extra dollars. If that's not a particular pull for you, this is probably the best value option with the newer chips.

An HX 300 series option with far better multicore for context:

HP OmniBook Ultra Copilot+ PC 14" 2.2K Touch-Screen Laptop AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 32GB Memory 1TB SSD Meteor Silver 14-fd0013dx - Best Buy

I'd also figure out if you want the same 2 in 1 folding form factor. If its a feature you used heavily, that's an important discussion point.

ROG Ally X

USB4 eGPU RTX 4090 @133%/+230/+500

Thanks for the information. I saw a bunch of people reviewing the newer Core 9 units so hoping I could get my hands on that. If that's not possible then I will have to go with the Core 7's Series 2 or the new Ryzen AI chips. I don't know if I trust Asus, given all the weird ROG Ally debacle, hopefully some of these Lenovo ones will come down in price to get.
