Hi,

I'm planning to switch from ATX to SFF build due to moving back to my Home country and I was wondering which PSU should I buy or should I just keep my current PSU

Here's my current build:

CPU: R9 5900x (from my last build)

Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-I GAMING (I just bought this board)

RAM: 64GB Gskill trident Z neo 3600MHz (from my last build)

Case: Jonsbo VR3 (SFF case) (Just bought)

GPU: ROG STRIX 3090 (from my last build)

Cooler: AIO Arctic freezer II 280 (from my last build)

I have about 3 months to complete this build. i'm happy to provide you guys more info about my build.

Thank you for advance.

What's your current PSU?

If you want to buy new the Corsair SF1000 ATX v3.1 is the best you can get. Here's a review https://hwbusters.com/psus/corsair-sf1000-atx-v3-1-psu-review/

Yes, but SF is more silent than SF-L. I would opt for SF850 ATX v3.1 if the price is not much different from the SF850L.

Is there a big difference between atx 3.0 and 3.1?

There's no SF850 that is on Amazon JP, most of them are from kinda sketchy retailers and they are really expensive, And I found CORSAIR SFX-L SF1000L it's the ATX 3.0 model, will this work?

Should work fine. SF1000L is also a great unit but a bit noisy.

The differences between ATX3.0 and ATX3.1 are minimal. Most important difference is the presence of a native 12VHPWR connector on the modular board of the Corsair ATX3.1 unit.

What do you mean?

Spoiler

Or did you just mean that they include the cable, like they do for their other ATX 3.0 named units? (which I will reiterate is native, and is a better solution than having a 12+4 pin connector on the PSU side that happens to look like a 12VHPWR/12V-2x6 connector 🤮)

the SF1000L has the zero RPM mode, and it's low noise unit, is it still noisy?

So should i get the SF1000L (https://paypayfleamarket.yahoo.co.jp/item/z355315320) <- this is the used marketplace unit or the SF850 3.1 edition (https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/product/B0D3ZYLJC1/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=AN1VRQENFRJN5&psc=1) <- this is on amazon JP?

I'm not  planning to get the RTX 4000 anytime soon, if possible i'm planning to switch to AMD GPU in the future. If so,, i don't think I'm worry about the 12VHPWR connector.

At 500W load, which is about what your PC would pull, Cybenetics measured the SF1000L to run its 120mm fan at 1200 RPM and 34 dBA. For the SF1000, it ran its 92mm fan at 870 RPM and 7.1 dBA. The SF is aso shorter than the SFL. Whether that's worth it to you is up to you.
