cpu temps reaching 80 when idle. need help.

So when updating my bios settings, my idle temps had gone up from 33-43 degrees to 45-60 degrees. I discovered that when I turn off Core Performance Boost, it lowers down my temperatures but gives me lower performance. Now when it is turned on it does give me higher temps and much higher performance and less stutter but sometimes it spikes up to 80 degrees with no apps but Discord and Spotify open, and makes my fans go crazy. My temps never spiked when core performance boost was turned off and I did reapply thermal paste using a different method to make sure it got good spread, but when turned on it spikes to 80 degrees when idle which is bad for the CPU and annoying for me since the fans start getting loud. How can I fix this without doing some crazy stuff in the BIOS, im not too computer savvy.

Ryzen 5 5600x3D CPU
Corsair H150i LCD 360MM AIO cooler
3070 Ti FE 8gb
Corsair Vengeance PRO 16GB DDR4 3200MHZ RAM
TUF Gaming B550-Plus WiFi II motherboard

i mean Ryzen cpus were always known for these spikes... running several apps is also not "idle"...

 

hmm, you can try different fancurves...

 

also uninstall all 3rd party control apps, etc that you might have - that also includes "ryzen master" btw...

 

 

otherwise you could try eco mode or something. 

 

also strongly suggest full BIOS reset to start off..

 (reset CMOS)

 

 

edit: to be clear the spiking isn't a bad thing you basically just have to find a fan curve that's not annoying,  basically don't set it to low when "idle"...

You could also try an air cooler. There could be an issue with you're aio

I don’t think the aio cooler could be the issue, with CPB turned off, no spikes happens and everything is completely normal

Ill definitely try resetting bios settings, and yeah ig discord and Spotify open doesn’t count as idle, what I basically mean is js it isn’t running anything heavy other than Wallpaper engine but even then I’ve had that cpu in specific for a year now and I’ve never encountered an issue like with wallpaper engine and the settings are a bit tweaked basically it isn’t necessarily on the high or ultra setting. I don’t have Ryzen Master installed either, or any 3rd party software. Does iCue count?

Reseat aio, did you apply thermal paste, or removed the protection film on the copper head?

i did try resetting bios but now it just ramps up to 70 instead of 80 at random, not every time when “idle” but I mean at really really random times when im not doing anything
