Since the desk probablt has to stay the main way to make things look bigger is by moving the laptop forward.

 

Put the laptop on a stand so its higher which is better for you ergonomically too. Put the keyboard under it and then use as normal. Makes you REAL good at blind typing btw.

If the laptop's screen can flip around 180 degrees, do that so you're not wasting half your table on a keyboard and trackpad you're not using.

 

If it can't, do you need the fancy keyboard?

If I were you I would try to find something like this that would support the size of your laptop and let you have your keyboard partially under it.
