This my first PC build I just want some advice as to what case and PSU I should get. I have a budget of about $500 - $600 CAD. Any advice is Appreciated!

 

Note: My friend is offering me the CPU, MOBO, RAM and Cooler for $100 CAD. He also got me a deal for the GPU at $150 max.

They are not the cheapest options out there but the PSU is a reliable budget PSU.

I dont want to recommend anything dangerous.

$25 for a downdraft cooler that came free with the CPU isn't a deal. Name brand RGB tower coolers run for cheaper. Either he gives you that cooler for free or spend the $25 yourself on something better.

 

I'd do something like this:

The CPU,MOBO,RAM, and cooler come together for $100 but I could probably ask my friend to just sell the the parts without the cooler

There's just a big difference if your buddy is selling each bit of the parts to you at $25 or just wants a rounded off $100 as a bundle of them all together. If as a bundle I might let it slide, not the worst thing in the world.
