Launching fullscreen games with HDR on makes my monitor flick off/on

Hi,

I can't tell if this is just a normal thing or if it's fixable?

When I launch a game in fullscreen with HDR enabled in windows both my monitors flick off then back on like they're swapping inputs and my whole pc freezes for a couple of seconds. The same happens when I alt tab while in fullscreen.

There is no issue with HDR disabled in windows but the colours look really washed out.

Win 11

Main monitor: MSI G272QPF E2

Second monitor: AOC (no HDR)

MSI B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI Motherboard

AMD Ryzen 7 9700X Processor

ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 12G

CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB

WD_BLACK SN770 1TB NVMe

i see that with amd 6800xt also. its windows hdr throwing a fit i think...in borderless full screen its fine but full screen on a lot games not so much

when color washout sticks i just turn off then back on hdr and its fixed. may work doing opposite

Yea going in windowed borderless seems to work for launching and alt tabbing  Thank you!! 

The washout seems to only happen on boot sometimes and when I play slay the spire but turning HDR off then back on fixes it.

Some games do that for me aswell. Seems like normal behavior for HDR.
